MInimalism
Minimalism is a lifestyle that involves reducing or simlplifying material possessions. It is a practice that helps us be more concious about what we consume, use and incorporate into our homes.
It helps us discover what we really value in life, what brings us joy and what we want to focus on- thus helping us live a more meaningful life.
So it´s not about surviving with as few things as possible, but rather finding out what is enough for you.
Minimalism is not about deprivation, but about liberation. It´s about giving up the things that no longer serve us so that we have time and space for the things that do. In other words:
Minimalism is not the absence of something, but the perfect amount of something.
Saves money
As a minimalist you simply buy things you need, and occasionally you buy things you really want, but you don´t buy anything in excess. This way you can save money.
Less time for cleaning
Fewer things means easier to cleaning. You have to organize and store less and end up with less clutter. You will also find things in your home much easier.
Good for the environment
Less consumption means less waste and by recycling and donating the things you no longer need, someone else can benefit from it, meaning they don´t have to buy new things and this cylcle helps us keep our environment clean.
Frees up time
Instead of going to (online) stores or cleaning, you have more time for the things you love. You have time for the hobby you´ve always wanted to pursue andyou have more tie for people you love.
Increases gratitude
You become more grateful for the things you have.
Helps to live in the present moment
Your body, your interests, your values change from time to time and if you don´t decide what to keep or let go of, you will hold on to everything that may no longer be you.
Increases happiness
Happiness is a state of being and not a state of having. Ultimately, it´s not the material things that make you happy, but the moments and experiences in your life.
Removes emotional baggage
Sometimes your emotions get attached to things, and letting things go and out of sight can help release the tension you´ve been carrying in your body.
