You can´t change the past, but you can start changing the future now.
It is one of my favorite mantras and has accompanied me for several years. Too many times have I said, "If only I had known...I wish I had...if I could just go back in time..." But we can't, and that's a good thing. Regrets just mean that we didn't know then what we know now. And we had to overcome all difficulties and jump over the stones that lay in our life path to gain this wisdom now. We can embrace the scars and wrinkles that life has tattooed on our bodies and now pass on the knowledge gained through our experiences to those who need it. We can support people so that they don't have to go through the same difficulties. The only thing we can control is the moment we are in and when we are aware of it, we can seize the moment and change our behavior that will change the future - which will eventually be a thing of the past. Let's see regret as an imaginary flower of wisdom. We can give this flower to other people and if we all share our plants we can create a beautiful garden. Imagine how amazing regret could look! When we regret something we didn't do in the past, it means that the body, mind, or spirit just wasn't ready or the circumstances weren't right at the time. The ground just wasn't ready for the sowing, or the weather wouldn't allow the seed to do its job and produce our flowers, either in the form of great experiences or in the form of wisdom. However, that doesn't mean the soil or weather isn't currently ideal to START NOW. ;-)
